ASA parts: UV-stable and weatherproof, made to order

ASA is the material we use for anything that lives outside or on a vehicle. It resists UV, weather, and heat to roughly 100 °C, so parts keep their colour and strength season after season. We 3D print ASA parts to order in London, Ontario and ship across Canada.

Built for sun and weather

ASA was developed specifically as a UV-stable engineering plastic. It won't fade, chalk, or turn brittle with sun exposure.

Handles real heat

Stable to roughly 100 °C: closed cars in summer, dark surfaces in direct sun, and warm equipment enclosures.

Tough and rigid

Higher impact resistance and stiffness than PETG, suited to exterior hardware that takes knocks.

Applications

What ASA is used for

Typical jobs we print in ASA. If your part is similar to any of these, ASA is likely the right choice.

Automotive exterior

Trim clips, mirror and light housings, grille hardware, and mounts, away from engine heat. We do not print safety-critical components.

Marine hardware

Vents, covers, brackets, and cabin fittings for boats. ASA handles spray, sun, and temperature swings.

Outdoor fixtures

Brackets, mounts, enclosures, and hose or cable hardware that stay outside year round.

Replacement exterior parts

Discontinued vents, caps, knobs, and covers reproduced from a sample or photo.

Mechanical values are measured in the X–Y print plane; tensile strength across layer lines is approximately 31 MPa in Z, among the best layer adhesion of our materials. ASA is resistant to acids and alkalis, but not to some organic solvents, oils, and greases.

Common questions

ASA printing FAQ

Will ASA fade or crack in the sun?

No. UV stability is the reason ASA exists: it keeps its colour and mechanical properties through prolonged sun and weather exposure, which is why we use it for all outdoor and vehicle-exterior parts.

Is ASA good for car parts?

Yes, for exterior and interior hardware: trim, clips, housings, and mounts. It is not suitable for engine-bay temperatures, and we do not print safety-critical components such as brake, steering, or fuel system parts.

ASA or PETG, which should I choose?

If the part lives outdoors or in direct sun, choose ASA. For indoor and general-duty parts, PETG does the same job at lower cost. If you are unsure, select 'recommend one' on the quote form.

How much does an ASA print cost?

Pricing depends on size, quantity, and complexity. Upload a file or describe the part and you will receive a print and shipping price within one business day, with no obligation.
